Spend the night at one of the nation's only offshore caisson lighthouses open to the public. Located at the mouth of the Taunton River, Borden Flats Lighthouse has protected the waters of Mt. Hope Bay and Fall River for well over a century. The candy cane colored lighthouse remains true to its original late 1800s design, but now features solar electricity and a modern kitchen. It also contains a bathroom with an eco-friendly toilet and sink (no shower), a flat-screen TV, one queen-size pillow-top mattress and indoor heat. To reach their destination, guests will be provided with a shuttle across 1,500 feet of water, and once they're there, they can enjoy the entire lighthouse to themselves.
